If you follow your dream

If you follow your dream anything is made possible.

This Easter we had the immense pleasure to host Elsa and Olivie, who stopped here at Permaship, as part of their around-the-world journey to explore the relationship between Men and environment.

The time spent together as well as the story of the Wind Nomads (this is the name of their association) feels like a fairy tale.

Shipka has already seen original arrivals, but a tandem bike, heading uphill with a steady speed, certainly ranks somewhere at the top of our experience. Perhaps our friends, the Sky Nomads could challenge this and arrive here by a paraglider ;)

The desire to meet with people who live in harmony with Nature, and the desire to learn about different practices and Nature friendly lifestyles is the main driving force that inspired their journey. The French tandem aims to visit 33 countries and travel 47,000 km and all this with absolutely zero CO2 impact - using only the bike, horses in South America and boat between the continents.

We shared with them our experience in permaculture techniques -like the chicken tractor, the herb spiral and our starting food forest. We have exchanged some recipies for natural nettle or yarrow fertilizer/"herbicide" and learned from Olivie that yarrow solution could be used also to control fleas in cats and dogs. We heard about an exciting plant Saponelle, used instead of soap for washing in France and the fact that Monsanto is so strong there that sharing commercial information about natural recipies for pest control and the like is illegal in France.

We spoke about Steiner and Shtetinin Schools and dreamed together that today's children will be building the civilization of the future. We trust our today's activities are critical to enable our children build this new world. The Wind Nomads work in Association with several French schools feeding them with info from their findings. Possibly we could further develop this idea with the Eco-clubs of www.zelen.bg?

Hoping to follow in their bike tracks soon, at least by visiting their next destination Vasil Levski family estate where Olivie and Elsa headed after Shipka and Stara Zagora Vet Institute, we sent to all of you Spring odors from Shipka.

To follow the journey that has commenced with the old silk route and to learn much more about its aims and objectives go to the Nomads web site in French or click here to download the English presentation of their project
Thank you Wind Nomades! Your visit was one of these signs, showing miracles happen when you follow your heart.
